About the Department of Tourism Management and Hotel Management
The tourism sector, one of the fastest growing sectors in the world, contributes greatly to the world economy and employment. Today, the sector, which employs 1 out of every 11 workers worldwide, holds an important place in the world economy with a share of approximately 3.58%. According to the projections of the World Tourism Organization, it is estimated that the number of employees in the tourism and travel sector will reach 370 million by 2026, and 1 out of every 9 jobs will be in the sector.
The education staff of our tourism faculty, which was established to train well-equipped, effective, tourism-conscious, equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge, with the qualifications that will pioneer the social, economic and technical development of tourism, with foreign language skills, with a high level of knowledge, skills, management and administration skills, with the power to make decisions by researching and synthesizing, visionary and innovative managers and academicians, which is an extremely important sector for national economies, consists of academicians with both sector and academic experience.
Our education program, which mainly consists of travel agency, tour operator, accommodation management and food and beverage management, service techniques and gastronomy courses, is supported by courses such as foreign language, central reservation systems, communication with customers, sales methods, accounting.
Our students, who have the opportunity of practical training in addition to theoretical courses, will have the opportunity to get to know the business environment related to their fields and will be ready to meet the need for qualified labor force, which is extremely important for the tourism industry, as they have the opportunity to study in hotels that are in the service of our university during their education and to do internships in these hotels, other countries and Turkey.
Due to the labor-intensive nature of the tourism sector, our graduates have a wide range of job opportunities. Our students, who will have sufficient knowledge and skills for the sector as a result of the theoretical and practical courses they will take during their education, will have the chance to find jobs in hotels, travel agencies, airports, travel businesses, cruise ships and tourism-related public institutions in Turkey and abroad.
The Department of Tourism Management and Hotel Management is a 4-year program and the medium of instruction is English. It is a department that all high school graduates can prefer.
In addition to our many faculty members with international experience, our guests from the sector will regularly attend our courses as guest speakers and share their knowledge and experience with our students. As the Faculty of Tourism, our students who will graduate will be trained as experienced staff and the university-industry bridge will be established.
